UN Replica – Moulding leaders for tomorrow

Nov 03, 2016

Labour India Gurukulam Public School has many firsts to its credit. The most recent one is the first ever UN moot programme called UN Replica to be held in November, 2016 at the school.

The idea holds special importance in a world that has been divided on many terms with conflicts and other problems deriding the progress of the human civilization in various parts of the world.  UN has stood for cooperation, to finding solutions to problems through dialogue and innovative thought processes, to accentuating the need for sharing and utilising scarce resources and more.

The UN replica programme is envisaged to bring together the brightest of minds in education and inculcate in them the ideals that UN stands for, debate about current issues and look for better solutions for the problems that plague the world.

The future of the world is in our Classrooms today. As school and college students from handpicked Elite Institutions across Kerala brainstorm for solutions to the present world challenges, we are imbibing global citizenship through shared responsibility for global problems and solutions among the next generation. We are also training them on critical thinking, problem solving, public speaking and negotiation skills, the most crucial skills among all life skills.

A training programme for teachers leading to the main event was conducted at the Labour India Gurukulam premises on September 27-28, 2016. This will be followed up by an orientation programme in early November.  The main event is slated for Nov 11-12, 2016.

The guidance of Sri.T.P. Sreenivasan, has proved to be invaluable in the conceptualization and execution of this novel idea. Sreenivasan who retired from the highest level in the Indian Foreign Service in 2004, has 37 years of diplomatic experience and has held crucial appointments around the globe. His postings have included Japan, Bhutan, the (former) Soviet Union, Burma, Fiji Islands, the United States, Kenya, and Austria. His posting in Vienna as Ambassador to Austria and Slovenia and Permanent Representative to the UN (2000-2004) was the grand ?nale of an illustrious career. While in Vienna, he also served as the Governor for India to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) He was also the head of the Council for Higher Education of the State of Kerala.

  • 100% in CBSE 10th & 12th Exams

Success, the word is magical but difficult to achieve. But Labour Indian has done it again this year. The school wrote home a 100% result when its students emerged with flying colours in the 10th and 12th board examinations conducted by CBSE. Schools often go through ruthless sieving procedures to allow only the best minds to take the important board exams of 10th ( AISSE)and 12th (AISSCE). We, at Labour India never discourage a child. Our school has always believed in the latent abilities in each child. We create an environment that brings out the best in him/her.
